From December to May next year, Rui and Guan will drive their van to find a secret and precious food ingredient - cliff honey - in the mountains of Southwest China's Yunnan province. Cliff honey is produced by black giant bees, also called Himalayan honey bees, and cannot be artificially raised and gathered. Himalayan honey bees are only found in Nepal, Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region and Yunnan province, and they make nests on desolate cliffs.

Yue Yawei, a post-1980 graduate with major in arts, found an opportunity in 3D painting and turned it into a successful business.

Ten years ago, Yue graduated from a university in Ningxia Hui autonomous region and came to Shanghai to pursue a better life. Just by chance, he took a part-time job to create a 3D painting for a hotpot restaurant. Yue earned good money from that and found huge market for 3D paintings. He resigned as a website designer and decided to devote himself completely to 3D paintings.

Now, his team has eight full time painters, as well as one designer and a customer service handler. Last year, the company received more than 100 orders on Taobao, China's biggest online shopping platform, and registered a turnover of over 800,000 yuan ($125,520).

Chen Hesheng, 69, is a local Nanjing resident whose predecessors have lived there for 300 years. After his retirement, he picked up carpentry.

Every morning the first place he goes to is his workshop. At first he made some small wooden spoons and scoops, and then created miniature wooden farm tools and utensils. Later, Chen turned his focus to fast disappearing professions. He said that he wants to preserve the old memories as many old professions are disappearing.
