I miss the Days Of good nose art on American Aircraft. The Japanese have embraced it in there own unique form and being me I have to say It's not bad. I am sure it's not appealing to all but the Idea is the same although pushing more Kawaii and Moe (pronounced K-way and Mo-ah) meaning Cute and Adorable vs the raw sex appeal ( could call it Fan service for some to Echii to down right Hentai levels for some old Warbirds ) of Traditional US Military. The SDF has even gone so far as to adopt there own Official "Idols" for the three main services and even individual units. That's right Anime Girls to represent a military service.Here are some wacky looking cars I found.

As to the style of the look the Japanese adopted the big eyes from early American Cartoon Characters like Betty bop and Mickey Mouse. Anime and Manga permeate the entirety of modern Japanese and to a degree modern overall east Asian culture including Japan, south Korean. Chinese, the Philipines and beyond even beginning to merge into American Culture along side Other pop culture imports like Super Senti, Kaman Rider, Ringu and more.
And those who were here when I fist joined might remember my own Idol.
