Yes, at least the 052D-class no longer has any follow-up orders.
But, don't get your hopes up too much for the second half of the year (just yet). (You) just need to know that the new ship will come out sooner than the 11DDG and KDDX.

In addition, there are also rumors purporting that the first ship modules for the next-gen DDG have started to appear at Jiangnan, although this claim requires further verification.

Probably not, it was very likely never a real project in the first place. 9000t at full displacement is also quite small for modern standards and might have issue adapting to new equipment, VLS and weaponry further down the line.
Imagine them doing a cruiser in the 40-50k ton range with VLS deep enough to carry DF-27 or similar.

Some different information from before

Some notes from the latest paid 察话会 episode:
  • It's only a matter of time before the number of 052Ds exceeds 40
If the information for the 39th - 43rd 052D DDG contracts are accurate:

Honestly at this point, China might as well go for an eventual overall number of 50x 052D DDGs by the end of 15FYP, of which their construction and launching would hopefully occur concurrently with the construction and launching of the first units of the next-generation successor DDGs to the 052D family.

All-in-all, China should aim for superiority against the combined fleet of modern DDGs that are fielded right now (and to be fielded in the coming years) by the JMSDF, ROKN and RAN, in terms of quantity at the very least as benchmark.

Then I think we oughta wait and see.

Same case here as the claim of the simultaneous construction of 1x conventional-powered CV and 1x nuclear-powered CVN from earlier that was eventually proven to be wrong - Current information may become out-of-date with new/future developments.
