What if you live in North London but support Manchester United? Surely deserving of a punch in the face? At least that's what I told the magistrate...
It depends. I think, and most normal people would, understand it if you support another team because of a genuine connection. Like you were born in Manchester but moved to N. London for work. Or your dad was a Man Utd. supporter or whatever. Even if you're a glory hunter and you support Man Utd. during the period of them winning everything... there's plenty of those.
Just don't be an idiot and make it known publicly. If you're walking around with a Man Utd. shirt in N. London every day, you're kinda asking for it.
You do get a lot of people from countries with sh1t teams supporting other national teams e.g. Argentina. Or un-supporting their larger neighbours (e.g. Scots supporting anyone but England), Swiss/Austrians anyone but Germany,. etc.
Yeah I do see that, I don't like it. I support the US Men's National Team because that's where I live and that's where I grew up. That's where my allegiance is. I could also support Uzbekistan or S. Korea, but that wouldn't feel right to me. I would never support England or whatever team just because they're "big" and we're not. It's just embarrassing behavior.
The Irish do it right. They support any team that's against England on match day lmao.
If anything, Chinese fans should root for Sweden tomorrow.
