There is a vaguepost from an Algerian source (allegedly credible??) with the above KJ-500 and J-10C image.
When it comes to Algerian military procurement, he is as credible as it gets, with a proven track record of leaking info long before anyone else. His insider access explains why his posts are often intentionally vague to avoid being invited for tea (a fate that has met others). While details on the J-10C remain scarce, there is some chatter that an AEW&C deal is genuinely in the works.

Today's statement by President Vučić represents the first public acknowledgment that the HQ-9 will indeed become part of Serbia's

J-10CE? Would be a perfect choice, i was surprised they went for the overhyped, overpriced Rafale.

But I agree, how likely is a J-10CE purchase at all? They went for the Rafale (IMO alone an overkill for this country) & yet another fighter in about the same class is neither an economical nor operational wise decision. And would China allow one of its high-end types to be exported to Europe?

The Rafale purchased is early block and uses PESA radar and MICA. It is not overkill.

It is a overkill for Serbia, a country that can barely afford to fund a standard air force—let alone two extremely expensive, high-end fighters of the same generation and weight class. Yes, if I had an unlimited budget, it would make sense—though I generally consider the reduction to a simple PESA-versus-AESA comparison to be too simplistic—and besides, Serbia is politically torn between the "old guard" looking toward the East and many among the younger population who clearly want to join Europe.
