I was thinking, while forums are a good place to brainstorm this kind of list, what would really help is some kind of database or wiki of shame.

Too much work.

Also, the purpose of this thread/original post isn't to want to shame them or judge them for what they are, but rather to make it easier for people posting in this forum to have a quick reference list of outlets to check against to improve the forum's signal to noise ratio slightly.

Nomination: DefenseNews.com (and CASI?)

Reason:

I am not familiar with CASI but it sounds like even worse than CMPR as @ACuriousPLAFan mentions.
CASI is interesting because their analysis is the most obviously politically motivated I've seen out of a think-tank. I think they provide a good view into the (maybe intentional) ostriching that a lot of the (credible) think-tanks do.

I think news out of Turkey and Pakistan should also be taken with large grains of salt. The Turkish media (that I've seen in passing) feels India-lite, and Pakistani information on anything from procurement to performance to deployment is all over the place w/r PLA and PLA equipment.

Curious: how do forum members feel about the official media such as Peoples' Daily, China Daily, Global Times? Sometimes these outlets cover military aviation. I ask because my newsfeed sometimes serves me Chinese aviation stories from these outlets.
I don't take them seriously. The valuable information is kept behind the walls of Zhongnanhai. What these journalists publish is little more than small talk about sunshine and sunflowers, treating their readers like five year olds with stories about some utopia.

Not even Zhongnanhai. I very much doubt senior civil leaders spend their time reading classified performance statistics of various military equipments.
