A shame. The F126 was really good looking imo.

Makes sense though with the Netherlands controversy and the much more capable F127s coming soon.

Yeah, it really was, but it should have been. 48 VLS + Integrated Sonars+ TRS-4D LR + better EW+ 4 30mm guns

It sure was good looking but only 16 VLS cells are a joke.
Instead they will purchase 8 smaller Meko a200 with 32 VLS cells.

wouldnt bet much on 32 Mk41s

Boxes are boxes, not armament system; meko a200 is substantially weaker design.

To make 48 meaningful, you need to up the radar game(i.e. price and upper weight) several-fold.

This was meant to be ASW first design - it doesn't make sense.
Remember that 16 VLS is up to 64 already rather large ESSMs(i.e. very easily get to reasonable 32-40 medium range missiles), and every German combatant (other than meko) carries 2x21 RAM II on top.

Yes thats why i wanted the TRS-4D LR wich is not = the TRS-4D. The TRS-4D LR is the replacement for the Smart L in the F124 MLU should that ever happen.

The F126 was planned as a Multi purpose Frigate and I wanted to make it a true multi purpose Frigate.
My dream F126 would have looked some thing like this:
TRS-4D LR in fixed pannels
APAR Block 2
2 Ram starters
1 127/64 LW Gun
48 MK41
8 3SM
4 qNFMLG (new 30mm gun)
A bow sonar from AE
CAPTAS 4
Spider ATS
Decoys and potent EW
