The PLA doesn’t like to fly drones over populated areas.

If they wanted to communicate “J-36 + GJ-11” (those aren’t even GJ-11 in that picture), then they’d just tow them out off the hangar and park them on the apron at Malan for a couple of hours on a clear sunny day.

Probably with a huge H-20 Easter egg included, that nobody gets until after it’s finally revealed.

Drones under sun or even on trucks at tiananmen aren't quite there.

But again, since this alleged formation is fake anyway it is useless to discuss if and what China might want to show ...

First official tease for J-36, it came at the very end of the latest mini-movie about Y-20 where the FO was asking his captain what aircraft is coming in for refueling and he said "先加六爷，再加小六" before panning to a shot of this J-36 lookalike thingy.

I suspect it was just CGI'd in, but yes, it in theory could be intended to resemble J-36.
