They finally removed the machine gun from the drone; carrying mortar shells is a more reasonable choice.
That makes sense.
Alos is this the configuration now for the Squad or are they still experimenting? I noticed the drone operator in the last image. That is manpower intensive and one less firearm in the fight.

Also the PLA still require the SL to hold the door open? No locking mechanism for the door? It just strike me as odd for a vehicle built in 2026 to be rocking 1980s style tech. But hey maybe it is reliable and and a Doctrinal thing (make the SL count out his squad, etc).

seems like different configs for different situations, thaat one is more useful for SWAT than army.

i think its to make sure everyone understand what they are doing and are moving.
people are alot more likely to screw up/ blank out under pressure

I believe you are right, as it demonstrates a procedure that is performed time after time. Suggesting not just an SOP within 'A' unit, but several units and thus more than likely the PLA Doctrine.
