it probably would have been better if he just quoted the original poster on sdf instead since his articulation is missing a few details...

the original post on sdf suggests that because the paper (mis-labeled in the tweet, but really an irrelevant and distracting detail here) mentions dsi improvements for m1.6 speed, that it translates to a m1.6 supercruise performance target for the j-35.

a key point id like to point out is the poster interprets improvements as implying the design to be optimized for m1.6

finally, since the real object of interest are the excerpts from the paper, the specific images themselves are what should have been excised and uploaded here, instead of the tweets, which again, act only to muddle the clarity of what may already be low quality content.

This and the F-22, there's something that's just "right" about their silhouette. I knew I was gonna love this thing too since the Raptor is already my favorite

1990s and 2000s conditioning during the era of F-22 hyping when it had absolutely no equals and no equals on the known horizon.

This was post US sole superpower era and the arrogance that came with it. Before China's sustained low profile mode was dissolved, especially in this domain with the introduction of this beauty.

"You can't fire me! I quit!"

Better do it quick. Otherwise, one of the mods might ban you before you can properly delete.
I would still point out the weaknesses in the rearward stealth profile given the two conspicuous nozzles, and probably higher heat signature due to lower bypass ratio and probably shallower IWB, when compared to the benchmark.
