The ideal scenario would be that the German government tries to wrestle the Chinese stake back into German hands. This then results in the Chinese government initiating a complete ban of MB from the Chinese market. As a result, MB is forced to choose between the US and China with zero third option. (All started as a result of American geostrategic policy) It would be glorious to witness and it would be like the guy stressing out over which of the two buttons to press meme on steroids.
I don't know if it would be possible but perhaps for MB's sake if they could MB should just create a second completely independent local branch in the US just for the US market to avoid losing any of these two markets. maybe JV with an American company.
