Interesting, this imply the direction PLA might choose for their heavy MBT. Do you think it might have Armata type carousel type autoloader with two piece ammunition, or it might have bustle type autoloader with one piece ammunition?
I don't think theres a heavy tank in the works TBH.

The dimensions for the round mentioned here largely corresponds to the exterior dimensions of the 105mm round, thus it’s most likely the carousel loader for the type-100 tank.

I don’t think China will adopt the russian style two piece ammunition for future programs due to the limitation on the overall length of the penetrator which is the key limitation to penetration depth.

And given the unmanned turret design, the bustle loader design will probably not be adopted either as a carousel loader gives better packaging for more rounds, lower CG and a smaller turret projection.

The design is in a way similar in concept to the one piece ammunition carousel loader pioneered in the MTTB, albeit with upward stored ammunition thus allowing round extraction from the carousel and loading to be done in a single action.

Though I will caution. I don´t have the full document and oen part of it states that there are 1100mm available for ammunition (BTA-2 is 1100mm long) with 1023mm being the length of the 3d model round depicted in the drawings.

Apparently, someone hinted at a 7-axle next- (4th-)generation large/heavy MBT spotted on the road?

"New" PLA Next Generation Main Battle Tank

Maybe mods want to start a new thread, or change this thread somewhat
3 key differences here then:

- 7 roller wheels
- Different gun
- Different front armor add on module

The engine compartment looks exactly the same as Type 100. Though I will caution everyone about this, it might not be more than just a developmental prototype.
