When it comes to China military watching, the first thing to throw away in your mind is Western way of advertising loudly what they will design and how capable are their latest combat ships. China works from the extreme end, take example of 004. They do not make announcement, no illustration, no mention of name and type of ship etc, i.e. near total silence until the day the ship has been launched from the drydock.
Any information like this is total speculations with no merits. Type 055MG DDG-S simply do not exixt.
Fake as it may likely be, I´m willing have some doubts because of the following:
1- Sooner or later theres going to be a 055 sucesor. Either in the form of a new 055 variant or something else entirely.
2- Since 055 became a real capability, all likely naval enemies to the PLA started development of bigger and bigger destroyers and cruisers with greater counts of VLS. Hence, I beliebe whatever comes after 055 will also be bigger and more heavily armed.
3- Whoever artist made this model, it certainly follows the overall 055 aesthetics and base design. I really looks like a realistic 055 follow up.
1. Nobody disputes that there will eventually be a 055 successor. However just because there will eventually be a successor doesn't mean it will be similar to what you posted.
2. It's plausible the 055 successor will be larger and more heavily armed, that does seem to be a current trend in destroyers. However this is more on the level of speculation than evidence.
3. Just because somebody made a model that follows the existing aesthetics doesn't mean they have any inside info or are working for PLAN or anything like that. Making a model is hardly limited to insiders these days.
PLA watching is difficult because they're very opaque but lack of information doesn't mean we should just accept anybody's posts at face value, especially people without a track record.
