Absolute shocker, amirate? Unfortunately there was no historical precedent whatsoever for how bipolar hegemonies play out... None. Zero...

OTOH, I’m no warmonger, but China absolutely shouldn’t have let a formal Taiwanese declaration of independence slide without trying to make an example out of it for everyone else to see. It’s quite dangerous when everyone underestimates a hegemon and keeps crossing its red lines...
