Yes it is theft of Chinese AI technology. Guarantee you the Americans were plotting this takeover of Manus the whole time with the Manus founders. Telling them exactly what to do by moving to Singapore and firing all its Chinese workers. The Manus founders should face prison time for engaging in industrial espionage of Chinese technology on behalf of a foreign power. The punishment China dished out to Jack Ma and Ant should happen to Manus founders to send a message to every Chinese tech company to respect Chinese national security interests first. Any company founded on Chinese soil is Chinese. Manus used Chinese local government capital, Chinese data, used all the infrastructure of China to develop and then sneakily cooperated with the enemy to undermine Chinese national interests. There should be hell to pay to deter other traitors.

The following rare earth personnel restrictions should be expanded to other critical technologies like AI, quantum, etc.

From AI:

The "Export of Expertise" Ban (October 2025)

In October 2025, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) significantly expanded its export control list. For the first time, "personnel expertise" was explicitly categorized alongside physical minerals.

The Rule: Chinese nationals are strictly prohibited from providing technical assistance, consulting, or operational expertise to overseas rare earth mining, smelting, or magnet-manufacturing projects.

The Travel Impact: While an expert can technically take a vacation, they cannot travel for work-related purposes to any foreign "rival" project (such as those in Australia, the US, or the EU) without a state license—which is almost never granted for "national security" reasons.

The 2024 Rare Earth Management Regulations

New regulations that took effect on October 1, 2024, established that rare earths are "state-owned assets" and that the knowledge to process them is a state secret.

Criminalization: Under these rules, an expert who moves abroad to work for a competitor can be prosecuted for "leaking state secrets" or "damaging national interests."

The "Golden Handcuffs": By providing massive state subsidies to keep these experts within the "Big Two" state-owned rare earth giants, China has made the personal cost of leaving—legally or physically—prohibitively high.
There is a solution, more like a mitigation strategy: target and sanction Meta and anyone who has contact with Manus AI tech, any shareholder, any investor, sanction them, seize their properties, arrest them, black bag them. No one should believe they can steal the fruits of Chinese labour and profit from it. Manus’ model is proprietary, so its features will be recognised, even if under a rebranded American “AI”

Pipe dream from GCAP: Shoot down all kinds of Chinese aircrafts at a time. :p

I know this sounds evil and would negatively affect a lot of the diaspora here (including myself), but if the Chinese government really wanted to go gloves off, they should start funding white nationalist groups in the US and do whatever they could to foment ethnic conflict in the US. Take a page out of the Russian playbook. The tinder is already about to spark any minute now anyways due to MAGA, Trump and deteriorating material conditions. Since a huge chunk of AI talent in the US are of Chinese descent, they could even attach conditions to the funding to direct white nationalist groups to target Asians to make them feel unsafe and unwelcome and induce Chinese brain drain from the US. Frankly, this is just tit for tat for the American initiatives to push ethnic conflict in China through terrorist and separatist activity.
Yes. I'm sure that's what Germany thought when they sent Lenin back to Russia. Those type of events always have massive blowback. That's why China never involves itself in them.

Reminds me of the Indian journalist who thought that the Gigachad in chief was Eleven Jinping (XI being 11 in Roman numeral).
To be fair, use of roman numerals is kind of an archaic baby boomer and gen X thing. Kind of like how the highly educated or elites from the Silent Generation and Greatest Generation would learn latin in their youth, treating proficiency with it as a form of status signaling. When gen Z and alpha take over, all communication will be purely in the form of memes.
