They're not seeking to replace the volume 1:1. They're seeking to extract as much money from the world for as few drops of oil as possible. If that means they're being paid 1,000 or even 10,000 dollars a barrel, they'd be happy with that.Trump : "China can send their ships to us. China can send their ships to Venezuela"
Looks like he's still obsessed with controlling the world's oil trade. If Gulf oil is out, more money for US companies & govt. Having said that, neither the US nor Venezuela produce enough to replace the Gulf at the moment.
Trump prob got told off not to attack the oil infra etc, so this way he gets to block iranian oil plus anyone else that wants to do deal with iran to let their ships through or pay the toll. This move is making me scratch my head. If the goal is to inflict severe economic damage on Iran, just blow up all their oil production. Even if they were charging tolls it would take hundreds/thousands of ships to make up for the cost in Oil infrastructure repairs. Given the economic fallout for Iran with a closed strait, oil infrastructure attacks on GCC is now back on the table. Attacks on Iranian oil infrastructure would've led to the same outcome without pissing off everyone, well everyone will still be pissed but not getting their civilian ships boarded pissed.
Sorry for my ignorance but non-chinese people can make douyin accounts too? I thought you needed local cell/mobile number. They can publish to Douyin instead so they’ll inevitably make their way to TikTok.
Firmly in Israel-US-india camp.
Means they made it up and Trump slipped the wrong words by mistake. The report that China is shipping MANPADS to Iran came from CNN who said it came from US intelligence. What does Trump mean “if true”? Wouldn’t US intelligence tell him directly if it were true?
