The reason why the Americans and Israeli's are in trouble is because they have underestimated their opponent while overestimated their own abilities. They have been doing this from Korea to Iraq. And the reason why this pattern of behavior keeps repeating itself is because the West has a unshakable believe that they are morally and intellectually superior to others. When you believe that you are more virtuous and smarter than others you will react with a combination of disbelieve and dismay when others come out on top.
And when you believe that you are more virtuous and smarter than others. That helps to justify everthing you do yourself while at the same time condemning others for far less. ie hipocracy.
