I've seen this in other videos but only one flash. Something to do with terminal boosting?

I think it is an extra boost but also the sudden increase of heat signature might blind the IR guided part of the interceptor.

I wonder if they figured out approx what altitude they will be intercepted to time the two boosts from the 12 Day War. I wouldn't be surprised that besides the footage we see online, Iran would have spies recording the interceptions to give useful data to Iran to adjust their missiles.

However based on the video I think these are interceptors, blowing up near the warhead, but far away to cause any harm.

Indeed, I have witnessed in other videos also that this flash appears to happen near an interceptor. Although, I suspect pre-programming this feature to coincide with an incoming interceptor is a technical improbability (because it could occur at any altitude).

It appears more likely that there is some type of sensor that detects incoming interceptors (like MAWS on aircraft?) and triggers the boost phase - the sudden acceleration and increasing velocity very likely is not calculable by the AD radar to redefine a new interception point in sufficient time (split second, literally).

I get the feeling USIS is mentally and doctrinally unable to even process the idea that an enemy could have access to advanced intel.
Its as though the their leaders get their intel from Fox News and think Iran does too.

Those flashes might be the sparks from a missile's terminal maneuver.

You're right, considering how often the flashes are happening when the interceptors are nearby. It does seem to have a sensor. When I made the statement on altitude, I was considering the cheapest one to achieve this result.

Regardless, their missile is definitely better than most experts expected.

Does anyone have a good sources on Iranian ballistic missiles? Western sources are often out of date and biased.
