White House says Trump will meet Xi in China in May

A long-awaited meeting between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will take place in Beijing on May 14 and 15, the White House said Wednesday.

Trump and first lady Melania Trump will also host Xi for a “reciprocal visit” in Washington, D.C., at a to-be-announced date later this year, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters at a briefing.

The announcement amounts to a roughly six-week postponement of the China summit, which was expected to occur in late March and early April.

But Trump said in mid-March that the U.S. had asked to delay that meeting “by a month or so” in light of the Iran war.

The Trump administration has said it expects the war — which began on Feb. 28 when the U.S. and Israel launched strikes against Iran — will last around five weeks, though some officials have offered varying timelines.

Asked Wednesday if the new schedule for Trump’s China trip means that the U.S. expects the war will be wound down by mid-May, Leavitt said, “We’ve always estimated approximately four to six weeks, so you could do the math on that.”

Betting on the Kharg Island operation. Next Step June Xi Meeting.

US bought titanium from USSR through proxy shell company during cold war for its SR-71 no? Its just a repeat of its playbook.
And look how hungrily ex-party officials sold off Russia to the global capitalist cabal in the 1990s. Throughout history, the internal hanjian threat has been the greatest threat every dynasty faced and has brought about the collapse of every Chinese dynasty after the Qin. People willing to put their own interests and wealth above that of the country are the absolute lowest scum, even more despicable than the pedo-parasitic class that rules the Anglo empire. Any hanjian caught needs to be made an example of.

That is true but I think this describes the ROC/KMT alot more than the Qing because atleast Qing did put up some resistance but ROC just bowed down and recieved revune not only from HK but also Shanghai, Tianjin etc. They tried to completely replace Chinese culture with a western one and Jiang did absolutly nothing about Japan invasion of the Dongbei until his own generals had to force him to fight. After Nanjing he basically did fuck all and let the warlord and CCP do the fighting while being corrupt and useless.
I think it would be fair to say that the CCP was the true “nationalist” party of China since it was the only party strongly connected with the vast majority of the Chinese population, aka the peasants. The KMT were elitists, who on paper had the more nationalist ideology, but in practice only cared about their own wealth & power; hence why Chiang did not commit forces until the Japanese threatened his power base in the cities.

That would be true for most for the KMT but not the KMT in the Northwest for the most part as they actually later sided with the CCP and were the instigators of the Xi'an incident aka force Jiang to fight.

Chiang was an Idiot.

He failed to unify the warlords or the masses. The first thing the CPC did was to reunify using the national fervor of the masses.
He failed to industrialize the country. The first thing that the CPC did was to industrialize at any cost.
He failed to fight the Japanese build up and was literally forced at gunpoint to stop the persecutions of his rival and focus on Japan. Chiang inaction made the CPC guerrilla war against the invading forces more relevant and boosted their number from a few defeated thousand to hundred of thousands strong. I think that was the huge strategic mistake that contributed to his downfall.
