The Americans are finding it really hard to understand that Iran is willing to go all the way in this war. Maybe because this mentality doesnt exist in American war philosophy? They just keep thinking there is some other kind of ending other than total eradication of either side. Maybe hollywood has had a big psychological impact on reality?
This is where the policy making failed or rather, hijacked. Venezuelan state or population just didnt have a profound idiology. They thought they could repeat it based on foriegn-intel agencies backed momentary public unrest. But it was probably all designed to convince Trump, with all the key players sympathatic or as UK security agency put it, assets of foreign agencies, already in place, several layers, around the President, in and out of cabinet.

Now they're in this quagmire. But if all actors can find an off-ramp, it will be for good for mostly almost everyone.

If Americans actually think 1200 Marines in a MEU is leverage Iran should start considering annexing Dubai.
its going to be 5000 marines, however big the 82nd is
Andddddddddd

A large, significant movement is underway from the Continental U.S Army Airfields and U.S Airbases, with x35 C-17A Globemaster IIIs & x12 C-130J Hercules headed to the following locations:
• Odva Airbase, Israel
• King Faisal Airbase, Jordan
• King Hussein International Airport, Jordan.

The bulk of these aircrafts are originating from Fort Stewart, Joint-base Lewis-McChord, Fort Bragg, & Fort Campbell.

Fort Stewart is home to the 3rd Infantry Division,
whom have some of the most extensive warfighting history since the unit’s founding in 1917, with some of the most recent heavy notable fighting being the ‘03 Invasion of Iraq, Battle of Ramadi & Baghdad, as well as the entire span of the War in Afghanistan.

Fort Bragg is home to both the 82nd Airborne, as well as the 3rd Special Forces Group, and the 4th & 8th Psychological Operations’ Groups.

Fort Campbell
is famously known for being the home of both the 101st ‘Screamin’ Eagles’ Air Assault Division, as well as the 160th SOAR ‘Nightstalkers’ & the 5th Special Operations Group.

Joint-base Lewis-McChord is home to the 1st Special Operations Group, along with the 2nd Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment.

So its definitely more 10K+ still not as big as iraq numbers but still.

You do know where Israel and Jordan is right?
Each MEU has 2500 marines + sailors, number of ground combat marines per MEU is only 1200.
You're talking a tiny number of troops either on boats or staged 1500 km away from Iran, with no supply line, no air superiority even over Iraq right now.
As I said if Americans think this is leverage Iran should consider a land annexation of GCC countries.

Wouldn't be surprised they will just make a big Libya out of Iran. Destroy a lot of infrastructure in the last weeks and just leave it behind a broken nation.
The problem: The US and obviously Israel don't have the munitions to do any meaningful damage in a country 1.6 Million Km2, they could hit critical economic infrastructure but the Iranians are going retaliate destroying the entire Middle East Energy Infrastructure, and destroy Israel nuclear and oil infrastructure. That will create the biggest financial crisis in a generation, probably as big if not larger than the great depression. That will definitely restrict US actions in Iran.

I dont know man, i guess they dont feel safe bring them to Saudi or kuwait since they can get attacked there, Jordan is more safe?
i dont know what they are thinking they can do with this force, unless there is some plan to rope in gcc countries to provide more cannon fodder-troops

Potentially involved:
- 3rd Infantry Division
- 82nd Airborne Division
- 101st Airborne Division
- 7th Infantry Division
- 62nd Airlift Wing

Looks like Bibi didn't want to wait until Friday

Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps: A US-Israeli aggression targeted energy facilities in the cities of Isfahan in the center of the country and Khorramshahr in the south, and affected the gas supply lines belonging to the power plant in Khorramshahr, which led to a complete power outage in the city. Therefore, the leadership of the Revolutionary Guard has decided to respond to all power plants in Israel and the Arabian Gulf.
