Looks like SIOM built the national laser facility at Soreq nuclear research center. Probably based on the Shenguang II design with 8 multi-Kilojoule beams. Definitely dual use. Very likely China was more involved with Israel’s nuclear weapon program than Iran’s.

What is SIOM?

What is Shenguang II? It translates to "divine light/beam" in English but can you give info on when China developed it, what it's been used for that sort of stuff?

How is/was China involved in Israel's nuclear weapon program and how does lasers factor into it?

There are two ways to do Nuclear Fusion research - Tokamaks or Laser Inertial. Although many countries research the latter claiming that it’s for fusion power generation research, it is a cover for hydrogen bomb research.

According to the article in Chinese, Shenguang II 神光II, literally "Light of God", or "Divine Light" is the first laser equipment/facility export to Israel, it is huge, about 2 soccer field size, and is for very likely civilian research purpose. The facility was completed in 2017 after 6 years of work.

Hydrogen bomb is 20th century tech which was developed by Jews. I doubt that Israel couldn't have simply managed to get all the required tools and equipment from the US. Plus they had nukes well before 2017. So doubt this laser was used to develop Israel's nukes which is sort of a morale win.

They probably just use it for nuclear research. Developing other weapons using it is a possibility but that's neither here nor there.

You don’t use it to develop nukes, you use it to simulate conditions similar to nuclear fusion so that you can improve existing designs/understand how the bomb would behave under different environments.
