US wants those alive. The US gains far less from selling oil/gas than it gets from controlling those who sell oil/gas and using oil/gas for its economy.
I have been exploring a theory that the US is essentially conducting sorched earth policy in the Gulf, and is seeking to move the center of gravity for energy production to the Western hemisphere, though admittedly I am not too confident in that theory yet.

Guys, I dont think that Iran will really want to destroy the world oil supply right now. The reason is simple. Thats because it is the same as an economic suicide to them. Remember, iran also depend on crude oil for their economy. If the oil prize become too high, people will quickly migrate to electric vehicle to avoid high high fuel cost. And that means in the near future fossil oil wont become the most critical energy anymore in the world. But please cmiiw. Maybe I am wrong about this.

It doesnt mean people leave fossil oil entirely. But the usage of fossil oil will deminished quicker than we anticipated.

What is more likely to happen is that countries will derisk from unstable and expensive oil and gas, which needs a constant flow of imports

It's better to go with solar, batteries and electric transportation. They're cheaper and once you import them, you're self sufficient and no longer reliant on importing oil and gas, subject to the whims of the USA.

Israel will force their hand.

Influential monarchists are starting to panic since Israel said they're going to salt the earth and destroy the oil fields regardless of how the war ends.
"Surely it's a mistake, Israel would never do it, they're going to put the Shah back in power over a strong, free, prosperous Iran!"

A lot are still very delusional and in denial, they were swallowing it all up when Netanyahu said he has no plan of breaking Iran apart yesterday.

US and Israeli air forces have begun striking Iranian oil refineries and storage facilities. Video footage shows strikes on an oil refinery in Tehran. Iranian oil infrastructure in Shahran, Fardis, Karaj, and other locations has also been hit. In retaliation, Iran is striking US bases in the region.

Sadat did sell out the entirety of the arab world to the israelis and the US when he backed out of the Yom Kippur War right as Israel was about to lose, though. All for money and western weapons
Say you doesn't know anything about the war, without saying you know nothing about the war.

I won't derail this thread, is summary, If US come with its forces for Egypt, Egypt's government & it's people will believe that this invasion force is a threat for them and will be in high alert, let alone letting that threat inside Egypt's land. And that will remain, until they leave the Mid Sea and the Red Sea.

No idea if what this post is saying is true but police-protestor clashes are very intense,

And here it comes.. the news you've all been waiting for - random accidental deaths of soldiers in combat!
I think US casualties could be in the hundreds and that is from the initial attack. I think they didn´t evacuated the bases and probably thought that AD were good enough. They are trying hide the numbers as long as possible.
