It's not a good look for them to focus on attacking Iran's obviously non-contributing and old navy and aircraft while their missiles and drones are hitting Israel and taking out every US base in the entire ME.

If I had to guess, I would suspect that they are just going to through and systemically destroy all of Iran's industrial and military capabilities. From the smallest weapon to the largest, I think the plan will just be to destroy everything they can.

Great, they sunk ships already docked. And destoryed the non existent Iranian airforce. This will totally have a effect. American generals have lower iq than a barn mouse, just because you can blow it up doesnt mean you should.
American embassy is also being stormed with guns in Iraq, and a patriot battery was hit extremely hard in erbil. These patriot batteries suck so bad, S-400 does 10x better than them.

I think US is simply trying to do as much damage as they can to Iranian military forces. In the event of current Iranian gov survives the war, it would still need to divert significant resources from economic rebuilding into rebuilding an expensive navy.

There is also a domestic consumption angle for Trump, the destruction of Iranian Navy can be presented as a great achievement in the press and a good talking point for rallying his supporters.

Their area of operations is pretty narrow anyways, only submarines would be of any use for them.

Either way it seems that just two day in the war and air defenses already are degrading pretty fast, at some point the Iranians will only use their most advanced missile to hit high end targets and set the Middle East on fire with suicide drones. The biggest unknown is IF the Saudis are going to enter the war and use their stockpile of DF-21 missiles, different from air munitions those could do serious damage and transform this war into regional one.

Who could have predicted this? Level preparedness for this war was incredible low.

DF-21 could do what B-2 could not with Bunker Busters? Yap, such a wonderful display of military knowledge.

Saudis have absolutely nothing that can scare Iran. Entire Gulf Arabs are military jokes. They need Pakistanis to man their planes and weapon systems.

They really only need a coast guard and few moderate sized ships that can sail out into the ocean and back. Don’t know why they wasted resources on a cargo ship drone carrier.
