The death of Khamenei is a pretty big deal because it shows that Iran cannot protect its leaders. So regardless of how many people might be under Khamenei for succession, I doubt that seems like a secure job position for any of the potential candidates.
So what? The us president will forever have to double the security than ever before, the middle east could end up being a no go zone for American civilians. Frankly expect alot of American people living in the middle east to meet brutal ISIS ends at this point. Sure you can bomb fanatics and all, but you cant bomb 10 million of them that consider it honorable.
The US just dug there own grave in the middle east, no shitti will ever, ever, forgive this. Isreal already dug it with Gaza.
Its like imagine killing the pope and celebrating it publicly. He is more than a leader of just a country, he is also a leader of a way of thinking that goes beyond Iran.

Iran believes it’s a power in itself and not a vassal to either West or East. This is why they don’t like the West or don’t get too close with Russia or China.
As we approach WW3 and things get more desperate, there will be no more fence sitting. You have to make a decisive decision. I think we are seeing the consolidation of pacts now.

Apart from that another thing unfortunately is effectiveness. Doesn't matter how good your causes are. You need to effectively implement it. Relying on loyalty or emotion heavily just doesn't work in today's modern environment.

How is it Iran's fault for getting attack in the middle of negotiations?

Iranians being stupefied Israel and the US are breaking Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, 1961?

They keep thinking the act of diplomacy is sacrosanct when dealing with Israel and Trump.
That's why we're all talking about arrogance when they keep falling for the same ruse.

Think we can assign a bit of blame on Iranian leaders for not changing strategy, but it's pathological at this point.

Khamenei could have died from natural causes anytime since he was 86. So I’m pretty sure he would have chosen a successor in place well before this.

He could of hided in caves like that Bin Laden, do nothing and still have many people respect him as long as he is alive.

Perhaps, he intentionally wanted to end this way so the next generation could have his place.

The death of Khamenei, the 86 year old may not be a big deal as people are saying. But the death of the supreme leader is. If people are still going to downplay it even now, saying decapitation strikes doesn't matter, or someone else will take power... I don't even know what to think of this....
