probably means the operation isn’t going as well as originally hoped?
If this thing doesn't work out, will that mean he and his party will be pretty much finished for the election cycle?

People are not exactly in a good mood back home with the job cuts, inflation etc etc. Spending millions to billion on another foreign war that people can't even point on the map isn't a good look.

What's impressive is how fast Iranian retaliation came . You get the feeling they were prepared and are in it to win.
People with goldfish memory forgot that it took Iran half a day to properly respond last time.
Of course, the US not even doing continuous round the clock strikes because Trump & co thinks they have full escalation dominance is helping I think.

No, the Democrats are already weak and powerless, and the Republicans are too busy sucking up to Trump, no any power can stop MAGA.

Americans are so inherently belligerent; bombing the Iranians would actually increase Trump's approval ratings, and they would support him regardless of whether the goal was achieved.

Anyone who believes that the goodwill of the American people has any effect (regardless of whether it even exists) will only face repeated betrayal and disappointment. Gaza is an example.

To be honest, both sides seemed a bit anticlimactic on the first day.

Israel did the most work. The US amassed so many fighter jets, just to launch a bunch of Tomahawks. Iran also fired some older Fateh-1s and then stopped.

Both sides just waiting for nightfall?
