Those missiles certainly look to be YJ-15s, one underneath each wing (two YJ-15s total).

Kinda hoping that the J-16s can carry YJ-15s as well.

Pretty good bet that anything J-15 variants can carry, that J-16 should be compatible with as well (though vice versa may not be categorically true for everything).

Whether they would use J-16 in a maritime strike role frequently is a different matter, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few units are equipped for it.

There is also presumably a viable use case for a land-attack variant (KD-15?).

7. The J-15 suffered several second-class accidents last year. The pilots were fine. It was an issue caused by the engine.
Kill all AL-31Fs without mercy

Genuinely who in their right minds would even say "bbb-but what about UEC they need the PLAN buying from them" I say let them ROT. Who cares? Why would you prioritise them over domestic engine firms? A preposterous notion from the very beginning. I want to see NONE of that crappy engine architecture in the PLAN's new carrier wings.

I hear the WS-10H2 is near. But whether we'll see it as soon as this year is another question...

Those remaining AL-31F compatible airframes would've burn through its lifespan as it is, and J-15T onward airframe should've solved that problem.

B/c evidently crappy 30-year old engine is still better enough for the specific application, despite not being domestic.

Which is risk, but also money going elsewhere and political backlash.
Given that Al-31 is old and is clearly weak for this aircraft, it should give you an idea or two on how "suitable" WS-10 is for the job to this very day.
