It's not the tiny landing pad that's the hard part, it's restarting the engines multiple time and thermal management on reentry. If you can't get those to work, you could have a continent sized landing pad and still fail.

This is all very encouraging. It's quite possible that the CZ-10B maiden flight planned for April will result in the first successfully recovered first-stage for a Chinese orbital launch, and before Zhuque-3's second flight.
