Hi,
on JF17 Chinese engine integration might be on demand by the relevant country, as during
the blk1 of JF17 with Russian engines were solely the responsibility of China to get a non stop
supply from Russia, and I’m sure by the passage of time russian engines will be phase out from
Pakistani inventory once they are out of their cycle life though initially Pakistan got a handsome
eg of Russian engines during the blk 1 integration manufacturing etc, but some of the countries
might not want Russian engines in their jets due to unforeseen circumstances or might not have
direct Russian access for future integration with blk3
thank you

Considering no JF-17 has actually been seen with WS-13, his claim is probably false. Also, like triple digit J-10CE and two batches of GJ-21 already sold seems outlandish and rather fishy as well.

No one in the domestic community really references them as well which is also somewhat of a red
1 WS-13E = WS-21,

2 There is no update on suppose FA-50 Egyptian deal, likely goes to J10CE.
There is a 12 J10CE Indonesia signed, according to Allen.

3 Countries with J10CE rumor: Egypt, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh

4 Countries with JF-17 rumor: Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Morocco, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and authorities in eastern Libya, alongside previously acknowledged discussions with Bangladesh and Iraq.

Is there more to this than rumors???

The discussions accelerated following a February 2026 visit to Islamabad by Somali Air Force Commander Mohamud Sheikh Ali,

Edit: Somalia was under a UN sanction from 1992 which restricted the acquisition of any heavy military equipment. This sanction was lifted in 2023.

I think Somalia is the most likely next operator (if funds can be sorted) due to their complex situation. They really don't have any other choice for an air force unless they want to restrict themselves to drones (in which case, it would be Turk drones).
