Nah. Actually, the Jai Hinds truly believe that India is already way above China and is second only to the United States. Their en masse reaction to that sh1tty WDMMA rankings is already telling.
It's not just Jai Hinds. It's their Mil leadership that actually believes this BS:
e.g

As per IAF experts, Rafale holds major superiority over J20 in terms of engine, combat capabilities, higher weapon load, battle experience and lethal missile power. "Rafale is far superior to the J 20, the Chengdu fighter of China. Even though it's believed to be a 5th generation fighter it is probably at best a 3.5 generation aircraft. It's got a third-generation engine as we have in the Sukhoi," said Air Marshal R Nambiar (retd), who flight-tested the Rafale fighter jets for India.

There is literal video of Indian Air Chief (released a few weeks before OP Sindoor) in which he claims that IAF Is better trained vs PLAAF

Not gonna happen. The Jai Hinds would rather detonate their own nukes across all Indian cities before going ahead with this.

(The original Tweet is meant to be satire.)

That’s a scathing as it could get sheesh…
Damn this was brutal, the writer didnt hold back.
In a pattern of longstanding, the IAF has been led by persons apparently determined to steer the force into the ground, much like the hot-dogging pilot with deficient flying skills, who destroyed the export potential of the Tejas by flying the plane into the desert sands at the UAE airshow a few months back.
Wait wait, what, no way this cost is just for planes not includes all the extras
the math indicates an even more ruinous outcome: With Rs 3.2 lakh crores, or US $38.4 billion (at the conversion rate of INR 83-84 for a US dollar) committed for 114 Rafale, where’s the money for the Modi government to spare for any indigenously designed and developed aircraft? And, mind you, this sum only accounts for the platforms, all the weapons — the A2A Meteor and the A2G Hammer mssiles cost a whole deal of extra, again in the billions of dollars!

36 billion USD for 114x 4.5th-gen jets is basically... 315.8 million USD per jet.

I doubt that the J-36 - Which is much larger, heavier and leagues ahead in terms of sophistication - Is even that expensive. Or being about in the same price tag category in the worst-case scenario. Holy sh1t.
The price per jet may be below $315m if you exclude possible corruption money which will actually land in the pockets of some politicians/decision-makers. I have heard this claim from some Indians in the past.

Which "Frigate" is in the $200m range?
054a, for instance. Literally largest frigate series in modern world.
Type 31 is slightly over that, despite being built in pounds at UK sallaries.
Smaller frigates can go way cheaper even for exports, Vietnamese gepards(of the kind which recently exercised with PLAN) are iirc ~175m usd apiece.

Just to give you a sense of things, Chinese advanced fighters are more in 056 price range.

I absolutely love it when the scammer gets scammed-besides the indians are not merely customers ...but "co-developers" of their 5th gen/6th aircraft promised by France,Russia,UK etc.

Indian arms sales long since are at some sort of coefficient just for being India.

But otherwise, I guess it isn't mainly corruption, it's India cornering itself by MMRCA saga into the corner. They ultimately need these aircraft, they need them for 20 years.

There's just no alternative - air force effectively cut it themselves. Corruption part here isn't price per se, it's as if India was destroying its alternatives over last 10 years sort of on purpose.
