Trump has actually started a proud new tradition for the USN. That of the eternal Cancelation class.
Trump made the Constellation Class the first Cancelation class. Then once Trump is out of office, his predecessor will immediately cancel the Trump Class thereby making that the new Cancelation Class. On and on forever.
Hang in there Burke class, you are going to be working until you are all 90 before you can retire. Kinda like the rest of American non-millionaires.
But isnt the first cancellation class the Zoomerwalts? And LITTORALS?

Those classes delivered actual ships to the fleet. The new Cancellation Classes will just eat up funding enough for an actual fleet but gets cancelled before delivering anything substantial.
Just think of all the profits that can be made if you go in from the very start knowing you won’t have to actually deliver any finished products! Just keep the PowerPoints rolling, cash the government cheques, ‘spend’ that money so it can’t be clawed back, and kick back and wait for the inevitable cancellation order. If you are really good, you may even be able to take a final big wet bite out of the taxpayers by collecting on cancellation fees in the contract.
Sounds like Russian naval industry...
Well, the Russians can build frigates and ice breakers and are seemingly designing a LHD from the scratch. The fact that people can joke about this should embarrass the US NAVSEA. All they do is eating from the legacy of their Cold War successes. Even better off programs like the Ford, America and Virginia are lowly ambitious upgrades of Cold War designs. And even these are having problems.
Oh yeah NUCLEAR POWERED ice-breakers which when i learned exists years ago was very surprised.
There will be at least 2 Constellation class delivered
