Looks like a BMP? They are amphibious, must be some sort of mechanical fault for it to sink while fording a canal.

Smoke is basically a tradeoff between energy in propellant (range). At the kind of extreme range modern BVR conflicts occur at I doubt it makes any difference.

Funny thing is, Gökdoğan-Bozdoğan AAMs/Hisar SAM/Siper SAM etc. actually burn(s) pretty efficiently,





but when launched at altitude, any missile leaves a contrail.
