Around 400 warheads by 2040; around 150 now according to this estimate:

That this received only likes should be bad. While majority of the north Koreans are underfed, the rocket man continues nuclear build up. I think it's bad for everyone, including china. I am sure that the CCP isn't very joyful about the nuclear build up by Kim. Militarized north Korea incentives everyone in the region to militarize. South Korea could soon get a nuke for itself; they got an accuse.

Why do we start from the idea that the PRC could strongly pressure the DPRK to limit its military modernization?

The DPRK is clearly responding not only to the militarization of Japan and ROK, but also to the US, which literally wants to end the MAD doctrine; the Golden Dome is a completely destabilizing factor for North Korea.

North Korea has nuclear weapons due to America and their buildup is in reaction to American loosening control of Japan while partially forcing South Korea to militarize rapidly beyond their need hence latter effectively negotiated concession of nuclear submarine which of course might be due to North Korea yet North Korea is constructing nuclear submarine to assure second strike capability if struck first.

China does not have any right nor actual hard leverage over North Korea and they could try yet that would further push North Korea towards Russia thus even less of whatever influence China might have, people that believe China can do anything to halt or slow down North Korea improving their capabilities and modernizing their military are uninformed and very much detached from reality.

North Koreans are underfed not because of Kim, it is due to sanctions which Russia previously abided while China still does, not as much as before yet they keep some of it while Russia almost lifted them all up. Russia stopped appeasing America unlike China that still uses North Korea as bartering chip when comes to America. Yet some Chinese do not acknowledge and deny yet chastise North Korean leadership when they get cold reception as if it unwarranted when China established relationship with South Korea. It is same as if a country establishes relationship with Republic of China/Taiwan. It is betrayal of almost highest degree, short of total embargo or war.

"Underfed" is a fresh, 25 year old take. Since then, it was poor in choice when compared to much richer neighbors (accessibility of more expensive food for common people - not availability, it can be procured qt will; it is just expensive), but food is available.

Furthermore, exactly via proactive international policy, there's a very visible improvement in quality of life in DPRK since 2023.

And it's exactly thanks to views like yours that in Korean public perception it'll be exclusively due to daring Kim's gambit in Russia.

Result is huge net loss. North still got whatever weapons it wanted, blues hate China even more(guess who's at fault? Of course China, ask any right jerk in Seoul), DPRK remembered Chinese support of sanctions well, but ironically - symbol of recovery is 100% Russia (which until 2023 didn't do shit, and supported sanctions all the same).
And who actually paid for DPRK economy remaining afloat, year after year? You guess. China did.

Magnificent display.

Hi,
while NK is having nuclear missiles or bombs for its own protection, but a win win
situation for USA in terms of keeping their arsenals and boots in ground for the sake
of protection in Sk & Japan, rest assured USA will never allow these two countries to
have their own nuclear arsenal otherwise situation will be reversed back for America to
take outs its forces from these two places
thank you

Here, they don't just get likes for missiles, but also for destroyers, frigates, tanks, and other military hardware, simply because the thread title is "North Korea Military News, Reports, Data, etc."
As for other things related to the DPRK, a separate thread should be opened. In addition to the person who writes about the population being malnourished and experiencing other difficult living conditions, others could also add news regarding civilian construction, such as entire new villages with new homes, hospitals, etc., to improve the lives of North Koreans (you can stay updated on this state website if you want

). But anything that doesn't concern military matters would be off-topic here, so any likes here are and will be related to military news.
