If 076 was purely drone carrier (so no well deck and amphibious component) it might have enough have height (or depth) to create vertical elevator like those underground japanese parking lots for storage. Not too difficult to take them out and maintain the craft then.

But since it isn't, i imagine is a typical aircraft hangar in a carrier

It isn't about complexity; some of the most complex and precise aerospace machines sit in constant readiness with only scheduled periodical maintenance: ICBMs.
It's about approach. You don't need to train your UCAVs, as such it's better to design them in a different way. I.e. storability here isn't by-product, it's goal and enabling feature.
LMAO. I think you might have a few other problems if your ICBMs are flying at the same sortie rates as your GJ-21s.

And I think if you had a stupendous vertical parking garage stacked full of GJ-21s your 076 might be more limited in sortie rate by other things than their airframe count. Say, uh, the single catapult & limited flight deck.

ICBMs don't get used, and they also aren't exposed to seawater.

Drones like the GJ-21 can certainly be parked much closer together than say a J-15, but any notion of stacking or anything similar is absurd.
I won't be terribly surprised if we'll see them exactly stored in more or less this way.

Yeap. Mr. Popeye showed some pictures of that quite some time ago.

Easies way to take care of any potential deck space problems with the GJ-21s? Stack'em.

Funny joke but with a hexagonal drone shelf where individual triangular pans/stages can slide apart and out whether by internal mechanism or by forklift, this could store a ton of them in the hangar. Of course, there will be a system using at least 2 elevators on opposite sides of the hangar where one moves spent drones from the deck down to one side of the hangar for maintenance/rearmament, then when ready, they are dollyed on one of the triangular pans to the middle where they are stacked and then again dollyed and separated to the other side near the second elevator for deployment readiness. It has to be an organized system that separates drones that are scheduled to fly, drones that are being maintained or needing maintenance, and drones in between for mass storage, not just of bunch of randomly piled drone towers, some drones needing to get upstairs for missions, some of which need maintenance and everyone struggling to get them out.

I'm trademarking, copyrighting, and patenting Drone Shelf as we speak....

4 drones per level forming a square drone tower is probably better than 6 drones forming a hex cus the hangar's rectangular so there wouldn't be wasted space, but it would depend on the traingular shape of the drone. If it's too acute of an angle for the nose then square wouldn't make sense, at least not with 4 noses in the center. The exact shape of the tower would have to depend on the shapes of the drone types used.
