It's not as if they're oblivious to the fact. The actual real world impact of the sentence means she shouldn't try to go back and if she does, they'll end her. In other words, India can't keep using her as a puppet to control Bangladesh. Her value to them as a tool takes a serious nosedive.

What does this even mean? Hit China hard? Trump hit China so hard the US went into Q1 recession and now all Western industries are questioning if they'll have rare earths to continue building what little they were building or if they will lose even that. China didn't budge one bit, not GDP growth, not trade numbers, nothing. Couldn't even tell looking at Chinese numbers that there were any hostilities. That's already harder than what the US can withstand in recoil damage; America basically punched China in the face and broke its own wrist while China didn't even move. Trump can feel that so he's getting all noodly around Xi. Chang's going, "You gotta hit harder; break everything up to the shoulder this time!" LOL Does Chang think the US is holding back? There is literally nothing left in the tank.

The other way to look at this is he is encouraging the empire to commit suicide. Meanwhile, over the past 20ish years, he has been encouraging the US not to engage in hostilities with China because China will collapse all on its own. If you observe this objectively, you can see Gordon is encouraging the US to act in ways that primarily benefit China and harm the US.
