It's a Western tactic to get someone who "use to be" on the other side to supposedly give them credibility from experience why they changed sides. It's like how the West gets Chinese to be traitorous to "their own" to establish they would know more. A white person wouldn't do that unless something really bad was going on for them to turn. That's what they're trying to say when Chinese they like say something bad about Chinese. But whites do do that. What are Democrats to Republicans. They can't admit that in this context because then they can't hide behind this only happens in extraordinary circumstances where someone will be a traitor to their own race because someone universally seen as bad made them turn.

I've seen Alex Karp claim he's a leftist liberal to give himself credibility on why he's saying the right is correct. But in the end just like Jews now are feeling the backlash of allying themselves with the Jews-will-not-replace-us Republicans, Alex Karp is half-black and half Jewish which probably makes him even more insecure. Look at him playing samurai in the video thinking he's a professional swordsman enough to show-it off. You know what gives him away being the spasmodic nerd that he'll always be? Look at how he thrusts his sword and how he shakes like an amateur not know how to control himself. He can't escape his nerd energy.

I believe China has already shown sufficient patience towards Japan, yet some people still feel that the Chinese should continue to show restraint. Why not condemn the provocateurs instead of demanding that China remain calm? Should China make concessions simply because it is a rational nation? China has never fantasized about avoiding losses in war, but rather knows that continued concessions will bring us even greater losses. A former Axis power in World War II has transformed itself into an "international model student" after the war, and even now it continues to provoke the very country it harmed in World War II. No rational person would accept such insane behavior. As a Chinese diplomat said, "Once a dirty head sticks out, it should be cut off without hesitation."

The whole point of a red line is that it shouldn’t be crossed. If your adversary crosses the red line and you do nothing. Guess what is going to happen. They are going to continue crossing deeper into your red line. If China doesn’t slam the breaks on Japan then the next ones will be the South Koreans, the Philippines, then the Europeans, and eventually the Americans.

Restraint will not be seemed in Washington or Europe as an attempt at deescalation. They will see it as a sign of weakness. Your attempt at trying to avoid war will actually be the cause that guarantees war. Putin stubbornness on not enforcing Russian red lines in order to engage in diplomacy have put them in an awkward position where the US threatens to launch nuclear capable missiles into Russia.

The West is stuck in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. A far cry from how they thought they need no one but everyone needs them. And because they can't do anything, it's even worse than risking war to solve their problems.

Don't believe the Europeans are of higher evolutionary intellect when they clearly didn't think this through and acted on pure emotional instinct instead. This wasn't just the Netherlands and the US. All of them wanted the outcome that they thought would result. The reason why it blew up in their faces is because they didn't think about it first. Who thinks because they seized control of the headquarters, the Chinese end was suppose to continue following orders from higher-ups. Because maybe they thought they did this with the rule of law that they they made up along the way so they expected unquestioned compliance or else China would be punished by some unseen invisible higher force if they violated the law? Again why do you think they want China to convert to Christianity that much? Because then that would've worked on its own.

They always expect China to show them good faith. When do they show China theirs? The pressure on the Dutch was all behind the scenes because if it wasn't, that would indicate China was the victim. That's why no one should see or hope for Europe to be friendly towards China. Trump and the US put them in this horrible situation... and they still obey. That's because they have the same macro goals of Trump that put them into this predicament in the first place.

The Democrats haven't learned either. They just sent a letter to Trump telling him not to abandon all the sanctions the US had on China under Biden. He's only doing that to keep the rare earths flowing and for China to save the US farmer. Maybe they'll be like the Europeans expecting somehow China is suppose to keep up their end of the deal while they US doesn't have to.

The way I see the Takaichi row is that there's no chance of a war. Even if she's an idiot who doesn't understand military affairs, the rest of the Japanese government has plenty of people who would shoot the idea down. Moreover, any war is contingent on a Chinese attack on Taiwan, and that would only happen if Taiwan crosses a red line. It has nothing to do with Japan or Japan's position to begin with, so it's just not going to happen.

That said, Takaichi presents a golden opportunity for China to humiliate an American puppet over the issue of Taiwan, and get massive public support for doing so. So why wouldn't they take full advantage of the situation? You can tell that everyone knows that Takaichi stepped over the line by observing how other countries react to it. Not even the Trump or the DPP are willing to support her.

And just look at all the reaction out of China itself. I've always felt that there was a strong undercurrent of support of settling scores with Japan, but the response is stronger than I expected. I think that she's really lucky that China isn't a democracy.

BTW I have found that western (or rather outside of China) "Leftists" always have a particularly rosy view of Japan. They want to believe the majority of Japanese people are good. I can't blame them since Japanese cultural exports are real and powerful. (Myself wanted to learn Japanese because of their stuff like Gundam. But learning more about actual historical and current Japanese ironically made me hate them to my guts......)

But in a just world the people of the world would learn about their terrifying crimes as much as nazis. (Because they are at least as bad as nazis.) and drop this stupid affinity. Can't give it much hope though....... I guess as long as China is doing its own stuff in its own pace, the correct view of the world and history will spread, one day.
