Simple. Your so call "less steahtly" and "regession" island is actually the more advanced design. The current island on the Fujian is pretty crappy for blowing soot on to the mast.
That could be easily fixed by installing wet scrubbers and other filters though, just like how coal fire power plants prevent black soot from poisoning and darkening the entire city.

Again, credible sources are saying the island on the mockup is for the CVN and the chimney is a hold over.
Do you really think it is a "hold over" when it is a pretty big chunk of metal that reflects EM waves back to the sources?

Some copers think an additional conventional carrier for PLAN will be the end of the world. Learn to stop taking them seriously.

So, you are calling basically all of the trusted member of domestic PLA watching "copers"?

There are likely space and weight restriction inplace that prevent that kind of solution. Separating the funnel from the rest of the structure would be easier in comparison.

Because that exact funnel structure has existed for 002 and the 003 mockups? By your logic 003 would've had two funnels, which is obviously not the case.
Funnel structure exists because the mockups are for conventional carriers. There is nothing illogical about this. By extension, the latest mockup having a funnel means the next carrier will be a conventional one.

The existence of a funnel on the mockup does not guarantee the existence on the actual ship. As demonstrated with the ships in service already.
By the same line of argument, the existence of a project for nuclear carrier doesn't guarantee the next build will be a nuclear one.
