Singaporean youths complaining about too many mainland Chinese F&B outlets in Singapore. Funny that they singled out the mainland Chinese and didn't bring up the Western and other East Asian brands.
If a whole commercial street is being taken over by Western, Korean, or Japanese brands, I don't think these folks will be complaining about losing their cultural heritage. You can complain, but don't be prejudiced.
This is free market in action, the Chinese franchises can pay more rent, and they are crazy competitive. Hence they can dominate a commercial space. But if people want to find the local cuisine, they can still go to the food courts, HDB flat eateries, and other humble places.
