Official Chinese readout is out. If no relaxation on chip controls, China L

You trade Rare Earth export control for Chip export control. Not for just a single BIS rule

This makes more sense now, so in total 34% would be removed, from 57% tariff to 23% on China.
No. It's 10% removal. 24% was already suspended from before. So in the real world, it's 10% removal

Honestly, I'm disappointed in China, they should have at least tried to get some foreign policy concessions. China is basically letting US bully Venezuela and Palestine without push back

So for rare-earth climb down China only gets US to climb down from the 50% rule for 1 year. That sounds like China Chickening out. After firing the big RE gun, I thought China would get bigger concessions. But no. Now US gets 1 year to stockpile Rare Earths.
No. the Rare Earth rules from before are still there. Previous rules still have restriction on quantity and licensing requirements. They only suspended the additional rules from October 9, which are a direct retaliation to US 50% rule.

Since when was China responsible for Venezuela and Palestine.
It's not but it should at least try to prevent war. Notice how Americans and their European puppets say that no sides should change the "status quo by force in Taiwan" even though Taiwan is literally seen as part of China. China could at least use that type of language to push back a bit on blatant imperialist and extrajudicial killings

Are people just cherry picking what they are reading now? Rare Earth export controls have not been lifted. Only the October 9th provisions have been suspended.

And the people whining about the US going to stockpile rare earths for another year. Do you have short term memory and completely forgot what FT posted 2 months ago.

Beijing is warning buyers they are at risk of greater supply restrictions if they stockpile rare earths and derived products such as magnets used in electric motors, according to two people familiar with the matter.
The other person said Chinese authorities were deliberately limiting approved export volumes to prevent foreign stockpiling. “This will be a leverage point from now on,” they said.

How is it a loss if China is not demanding for Chip relaxation. The Rare earth rules from October 9 are a retaliation for that particular BIS rule. So it is a 1:1 swap. There's no loss here.
China is better off in the long run if the chip restrictions stays in place. Earlier China didn't even demand for H20, which US allowed unilaterally due to Nvidia lobbying rather than China request. Then China had to block it on their end.
If you read the Chinese statement, every concession China is giving is the exact retaliation they did for the corresponding action from US.
