Idiot has no idea what he is about to walk into. Basically he is being summoned to China to be told in person that he is a certified moron and then be shown the door and told to fuck right back home. Maybe China will announce some fresh sanctions against the Dutch while he is there to really drive home the shitstorm he is in the middle of.

Idiot thinks he has leverage and is in a position of strength. China is going to show him just how fucked he and his country really is.

China will patiently tell them to get out of the cuck chair and make decisions that will benefit their own nation geopolitically.

Turns out the rules based order is complete bullshit from the start. The US wants to invade Venezuela no matter what even when Maduro tired to avoid war.
If the article is correct, looks like maduro sold out china the first chance he got. I get his POV, the US can overthrow him with military action. But the US wanted war and his offer wasn't enough. I wonder if this is just disinformation by the NYT to see discord between Venezuela and China ?

This will keep happening until the time comes when China is willing to intervene. You can provide as much moral and even economic support as you like but if the other side is willing to use force don't expect your partners, especially distant ones, to last long even if they have the best intentions.

China will never militarily intervene beyond its own backyard.

Why hasn't the US launched a ground offensive against the Houthis? Why hasn't the US coordinated with Israel to expand its offensive against Iran? Ten years ago, faced with this situation, the US would have undoubtedly called on other NATO members to launch a large-scale invasion. Why is it hesitant now?
I think the answer is self-evident. The US now has little room for error. If it were to become mired in a war of attrition anywhere, its global hegemony would be shattered.
As long as China can ensure that any war the US launches is not over quickly, then the US will not easily initiate a war.

Militarily intervening in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of the US mainland where there are multiple carrier groups and dozens of airbases.

I am sure the Easy NPC opponent on Heart of Iron 4 is more competent than whatever is being proposed here.

Nothing is being proposed just an observation and response to people getting bent out of shape that Venezuela may be capitulating to the US. What exactly do you expect them to do.

Venezuela has just 28 million people. But that is not the main issue. The issue is most population lives close to the coast. The idea you can support a guerrilla war operating from the inland forest is fanciful. Maduro also has had terrible relations with Lula from Brazil unlike Chavez. They simply do not get along. You can expect no support from there.
Venezuela also has a low industrialization ratio. They are basically not militarily self-sufficient. Heck they import food. That is all you need to know.

Yeah I kind of expect Venezuela military may fall relatively easy, but do you suppose there maybe insurgency afterwards?
