It does makes sense for American companies though, India will be the worlds third largest market after China and the USA simply due to their sheer size/population, so it makes sense for US companies to try and dominate their AI/data Centre industry early on. If ties were still good like pre COVID between China and India then Chinese companies would have been investing more in India as well.
So after the latest excitement with the release of Sora 2 (which has no audio), Kling 2.5 is still the top rated text to video model according to artificial analysis. China also has the 5th to 7th with Minimax, Wan & ByteDance Waver
OpenAI will have to emulate its namesake ( Aoi Sora) to be able to gain popularity with the crowd
They are going in that direction, with ChatGPT going to allow erotica soon.
Sora 2 and Veo 3 both have audio. The leaderboard is just testing it without audio to be consistent with the other models that don’t have audio. Kling 2.5 AFAIK doesn’t have native audio but adds sound effects in post processing; most of the models on that board, however, do not have audio at all.

It says its an AI device, but call they call it "Robot Phone" from Honor..
Volcano Engine (ByteDance's AI/cloud platform) now says its daily token usage surpassed 30T. That's huge for Doubao and its other AI applications.
