To me it's a no brainer. The reason why the Western alliance is in turmoil is because of how much they give the US that much power to dictate over everything in the West. And they got the Philippines to whine about how China doesn't treat them as equals. Well they're not equals. That's the lie the US pushes where they want everyone to be respected as an equal to get them to side with the US geopolitically. What's happening in the Western alliance where the US dictates policy to its allies shows how the US doesn't practice what the preach. Filipinos are angry because they can't sell their durian to China like American farmers can't sell their soy. Did they think they could get the US to bully China into continuing it despite how bad relations are going? I bet they did expect that.
The US needs that much control to have any assemblance of leverage against China and it's coming at US allies' expense hence why virtually every one of their economies are in the crapper. They don't need to pledge loyalty to China. They just need to trade with the only peer alternative to the US. It should tell them right now how the US isn't enough. The only reason why they don't see this simple solution to their problems is because of white supremacist beliefs. They know it's over for Western dominance over the world. They don't see themselves just being a part of the world community trying to be able to live comfortably like most of the world wants. They don't want to be like everyone else in this world. They need to control it to get what they want and no one else.
In order for them to live their expensive first world lifestyles, they need the very "over-capacity" they criticize China for. They can't make enough money with only what they have within their own borders. They have to make money outside their borders to live first world lifestyles. A first world healthcare system for all their citizens without it costing and arm and a leg cost a lot of money for a government to pay for. That's a part of the electric third rail they couldn't touch in Europe during the 2008 Western financial crisis hence why they're also in debt. Their lifestyle cost more than they make as a country. The only solution is over-capacity by their very definition.
I recently got in an online debate between Japanese and South Koreans something I haven't done in a while and all because of Sanae Takaichi. First it was just a Japanese guy then a South Korean joined in. Japanese and South Koreans truly live in delusion these days. They acted like China was supposed to be scared because this woman was elected. And of course I gave them a reality check on how the world hasn't changed because she was elected including how their countries are still in the same place as insecure with China as before.
I was watching some Korean video on YouTube talking about the Fujian launching and recovering 5th gen fighters. The Korean guy kept talking like China can't match "our" carriers. He was saying China's carrier only had three EMAL catapult launchers while theirs had four. Of course like before the J-20 was unveiled, Korean and Japanese were also bragging that they were the only ones in the world that had stealth fighters.
This is what you become when the US likes you.
