As long as they are not reselling China's controlled rare earths, it doesn't matter and there is no need to worry.

All this is true on what you guys are all saying but reflections on the Opium Wars is perhaps relevant as then China had silk,fine porcelains etc that the West craved but could not get without paying in silver/gold and the west didn't want to.... and because of their superior/advanced weapons/military organization deliberately/wilfully defeated a backward/late-dynastic Qing China-and the subsequent Century of Humiliation. BTW the same west craves China's factory goods,scientific advances and her RE/CM's to the insane max ..BUT thank Heaven this time/China is so very different and the one military card so depended on by the west for their pirate gains has been nulled/blocked by China's vast military power(Sept 3rd parade was no accident),unity,and civilizational discipline/organization otherwise the west at the point of a gun at China's head will demand ALL 45 million mt of China's RE's/CM's-the game is just beginning and dangerously so.

Australians can be pragmatic, particularly under the current labor government. They've learnt since the Scott Morrison days that generally the first offer by the Chinese is the best price you're going to get and no one wants to get themselves into an US soybean farmer type situation.
My daughter was just asking me the other day "how come Argentina is getting in on the soybean business to take advantage of the trade war? Aren't Milei and Trump friends?" to which I responded "did the US hesitate to take up Australia's lobster business with their Boston lobsters during the trade dispute when Scott Morrison was PM?" and I can just see the lightbulb above her head light up.

I do hope export control on chip equipment stays, it greatly benefits Chinese domestic chip equipment manufacturers and supply chain, pain now but great in the medium term
