The Chinese public no longer holds any expectations for the value of the Nobel Peace Prize or the Literature Prize. They still have a certain degree of respect for awards in physics, chemistry, and medicine.
They rotate allegiances whenever they need more money. It's their version of the infinite money glitch
you have to consider Australia not as a nation in its own right (after all, how can a real nation send its former prime ministers to act as public servants to other nations) but as an extension of the Anglo five eyes empire. This isn’t just a defeat for Australia, this is a defeat for the Anglo empire in the midst of its own decline.
This sounds like the mindset of some liberal nutjob here who claims to be from the Global South. According to him, the Global South is king, and that every superpower must give them free money and special treatment. Otherwise they'll just say no, and the superpower will be starved of resources and love.
Very sad. The Nobel Prize at its core is a private prize with subjective and untransparent criteria. The science prizes are just as political.
When you boils it, Alfred Nobel contributed nothing to science himself and his entire spiel was using money he made from explosives to insert his own name into other people's achievement and improve his own image.
Interesting observation from my recent trip to China: underground parking garages and subways have all been renovated with THICK blast resistant doors. Every business center, mall, apartment building complex, subway station is also a bunker.
