He was obviously speaking out of anger. In reality, the revelations they've published within China alone are enough to place them in a gray area of potential leaks. As public figures operating within China, it's natural for them to feel outraged by accusations of defamation and espionage. By comparison, SDF offers significantly better confidentiality for user identities.
My take is they do operate in a grey area, but unless there's a further policy change their current level of "leak" from Guancha is acceptable.
Recall back in the days when CJDBY was still around, some of the info that was leaking out of there was outrageous compared to today. You clearly had people on the inside arguing with folks and leaking classified stuff Warthunder style to win arguments. Guancha was already around back then (minus Yankee). When all those forums got cracked down Guancha was unscathed. Then later you had crack down on domestic military watchers on Bilibili and other platforms and again Guancha was untouched. I feel those guys have a good grasp on exactly how much they are allowed to say and how much is too much. Recall long ago before Yankee joined Guancha he had that show 帧察 and that got shutdown too for leaking too much. I don't feel Guancha the media company offers them a shield because it's semi-official or anything - if Guancha had that much pull they would have their interview license already!
The Guancha military affairs team last year gave us month of heads up that J-36 was coming and even gave very strong hints about the critical bit of information on the 3rd engine and they didn't get into any trouble. If H-20 flies by end of this year and it had JL-1 sized IWB I don't see that leak as been any worse than J-36 so they're unlikely to get into trouble either.
The thing that Ayi doesn't like and uses the derivative "EZ boy" moniker is Chinese people having this burning need to get approval from foreigners, and when manifested in PLA fans it shows up as them taking sensitive photos and information and spread it online, the recent J-50 photo is a good example. Ayi and Cute Orca particularly don't like it when people take such photos with the explicit goal of forwarding them to Deino (no offense Deino) for internet street creds. They likening it to Chinese girls easily spreading their legs for foreigners hence EZ boy.
I think this is one of those confidence thing that will only get turned around over time by actual wins and not just winnism. Ayi has said personally for himself he has mellowed out a lot after the 7 May 2025 India-Pakistan air battle with the reasoning that towards anyone who don't believe Chinese military power "I don't need to convince you online with words, if you don't believe then when the time comes you'll get a 6-0 too and then you will realize the truth of the matter".
Personally for me I find myself thinking along similar lines when I see argument online ever since the maiden flight of the 6th gen fighters.
