to be honest, no one expected WS-19 to be ready this quick. so its hard to believe for some people.

but Yankee and co., are highly trusted people when to comes to PLA. so this WS-19 News is correct. unless we get direct info from AECC weibo handle.
But I thought WS-19 comes with 2D, the nozzle on J-35A looks off IMO, doesn't seem like a proper LOAN nozzle if you compare it to F-35's nozzle or even the OG ones tested on a F-16. Neither does it have ceramic coating.

I believe it’s plausible. But I’m the guy who’s been arguing that the development time should compress a lot as the tech base becomes more mature for like 3-4 years now.

You are going to have to live with the possibility that the PLA simply does not value TVC so much that they will commit to it universally for all platforms and they have their reasons for seeing it this way, and that their reasons are backed by a lot more informed study and data than anything you can guess at from outside their 4 walls.

It's probably the naval variant that'll have it first or at all.

It certainly looks like a LOAN. IIRC doesn't need ceramic coating as the petal itself is ceramic.

CCTV reports: "Completely independent research and developed medium-thrust engine, MTOW close to 30 tons." "RCS is smaller than the palm of your hand"

It has not yet been officially confirmed whether it is the WS-19 or WS-21. Maybe it's both for now, after all, we all know that WS-19 is the target engine
