HUD is still entirely possible, it was on the J-36 and maybe they have a new thin-framed HUD similar to the one already on the J-10C and J-20? But HUD would still make sense on J-36 so I am entirely unsure about whether this has or doesn't have a HUD.

So really no bump on the intakes. DSI intakes are already pretty stealthy so I imagine they choose this kind of intake for performance, maybe we can look forward to even higher supersonic cruise speed?

If you look closely at the image it looks like there might be pores for boundary layer suction in either the top or side surface of the inlet, so one possibility is that the inlet uses a direct fluidic based control system to regulate the intake airstream.

J-XDS may also have HUD, I wouldn't use the current images as definitive confirmation of anything.

And even if J-XDS didn't have a HUD and J-36 does, the answer to your question is no.
