Yup, right wing already using Charlie's death to advocate for greater clampdown on their political enemies.

Charlie Kirk: “It’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."

Hypocrisy much? Shouldn't the right-wing live by their words and go on with life with this as just one of those acceptable costs?

I am not very familiar with the political ecology within the United States.
May I ask if this incident has a significant impact or the potential to lead to more serious consequences?

The extremist right-wing may see this as a declaration of war and open season, so they may retaliate against anyone they perceive as left wing or left leaning. The culture war may spill over into actual physical violence

Having a competent and capable intelligence apparatus does not mean that decision makers in the military or in the civilian government have the competence to act on it.
I recall reading that a certain former member of this forum used to practically tear their hair out trying to get civilian decision makers to take them seriously when talking about the PLA.

The actual intelligence apparatus in the west is fine and have the full resources of their nations to have intelligence on the PLA far beyond what we know in the public; the issue is more the west's public facing/non-classified thinktank and media space reporting on the PLA

This maybe is true for the americans, if at all. But I can ascertain that we Germans/ non angloneuropeans are really blindfolding into the next war, our intellegence apparatus is severely underperforming wrt to the PLA or China in general and it really depends on the weather on what the americans are ready to share with us.

Doesn't help that the decision makers are ignoring intellegence advice 90% of time anyway
