There are actually two J-35A within. I ought to move them to J-35A thread, but let's just leave them here for aesthetics.

J-35 is hogging all the attention these days. Absolutely gorgeous machine, but we want such attention for the J-35A brother too.

I think this is pretty much a confirmation that #82 is a prototype re-painted in an operational scheme, and thus it's not out of the question for some of (if not all of) the others we know (80, 81, 93) to be prototypes also?

By 'this' in the previous sentence I mean the rudders running the full length of the vertical stabs.

It is naval, the pilot is wearing a blue helmet

Agreed, also distinguishable by heat exchanger openings on the inside root section of both vertical stabilizers. The naval variant only has it on the right tail afiak

No, this is clearly the J-35. Both the J-35 and the J-35A have the 'Rescue' arrow (to the left of the pilot) and the heat exchangers on the root of both vertical stabs.

One of the ways you can tell them apart from this angle (besides the obvious blue-colored helmet) is the ram air intake, which is to the left of the pilot (same side as the 'Rescue' arrow) on the J-35 and to the right for the J-35A on all examples we have seen so far.

You are correct and I wanted to deleted my post just after posting but unfortunately it didn't work!

But yes, these are clearly the naval J-35!
