In China, people call the three-body TV series filmed by Netflix "the three-body problem filmed by the three-body man".

Not only because Netflix's crew completely distorted the spirit of the original novel, but also because "The Three-Body Man" is actually Liu Cixin's metaphor for Americans.

The first two parts of the "Three-Body Problem" series partly metaphorically represent China's efforts to fight against the bullying of the US Empire at the end of the last century and the beginning of this century.

Of course, this is a bit off topic here, so I won't continue.

I actually thought Three body problem series represented the Hubris of Humanity, who thought they can fight and win against Aliens with overwhelming technological might and essentially lost everything and became a picture.

If we want to represent modern metaphor, it will likely be the delusional Indians or even US, who never had a proper opponent and when they do, they keep coping that somehow they will win no matter what. I actually rooted for the Aliens for most of the story due to all the crazy hubris Humans kept showing. Aliens seemed tough realists who can do whatever it takes to survive, while humans keep coping.

Arrogance is indeed a common problem for all mankind.
However, specific to the story, you can see very obvious "Chinese characteristics" from the ETO organization
Loji, the protagonist of the second part, is considered by some to be a representative of Mao or the CPC in the story.

I've read somewhere that Netflix did this series only because there is a negative angle to paint China (the CR aspect, and perhaps the "look at these chineses they doomed us all by inviting the aliens over" aspect). Probably that's why they made Chernobyl as well, as we all know western media is just an arm of their insidious propaganda machine.
