Self-explanatory.

This is PLAN CAW sans KJ-600 until 6th gen deployment. And this is enough to demonstrate that global military power has entered into G2 mode. The rest are not even on the horizon ...

Why does the J-35A still fly with the covers on for EOTS? Both the J-35 and the J-20 not have them. I'm beginning to think the rumors of J-35A not having EOTS to hold more weight now IMO.

IF they didn't have EOTS, they wouldn't have put that shroud and would have made that area a smooth panel. Most likely its still development.

These aircraft are in active service, IMO it would be more ridiculous to suggest that these aircraft are halfbaked product rushed to service. Plus J-35 already has a fully functioning EOTS, they literally have a ready to use product.

The J-35a in these photos look different than the one flown at Zhuhai it seems to have more panels. Was the one flown in Zhuhai a earlier prototype.

But its also ridiculous to suggest that J-35A would not have EOTS but still kept the conical placeholder for no reason.

Planes have been put into service many times despite not all systems being ready. J-20 got into service with Russian Engines despite not being designed for it.

Being fair in engineering it is common to leave placeholders for legacy features or even in some cases simply software locking out features despite the hardware being physically there. It is just so they could simplify production lines.

EOTS/IRST is one of the important things for a stealth fighter that is expected to fight other stealth fighters. Its supposed to detect other stealth planes that cannot be detected by radar and provide another mode of detection. So, I don't think it makes sense for China to have a stealth plane without it. Even J-10 has it.

So, It makes more sense to me that they are developing a more advanced EOTS that it still in development and will be added later.
